My Rating: 9.4

I have been watching Who Framed Roger Rabbit since I was a kid. My parents loved it. I have to admit that I appreciate it a lot more as an adult than I did as a child. This is your typical “whodunnit” kind of movie that puts animated characters as physical beings living in the world as we know it along side humans.

Private Detective Eddie Valiant is tasked with helping Roger Rabbit prove that he didn’t kill the owner of Toontown, Marvin Acme, and find Acme’s will which gives Toontown to the Toons on Marvin’s death. All the while Eddie is lamenting the death of his brother, who was killed by a toon. With Roger and Eddie working together, there is no shortage of laughter and mishaps.

In the end Judge Doom, who has been riding the world of toons, Marvin’s murdered, and the toon who killed Eddie’s brother all turn out to be the same person (played by Christoper Lloyd!). Toontown is saved, Roger and Jessica his wife are back together, Eddie has peace and has rekindled love, and they all lived happily ever after.

What I like about this film is that it has held up over time. It is just as great to watch now, as it was in the 80’s. The way that animation and real life are blended together is fabulous. The color schemes are delightful. The script is well written.

Will definitely be watching again.
