You might have noticed by now that yesterday was a big movie watching day for me. I also watched Alien vs. Predator, which I will review next.
I enjoyed Predator much more than I did the Alien movies I watched. The actors (with the exception of Arnold) weren’t that great. The cinematography was unspectacular. The script and the Predator character, however, were gold. Sure, the Predator rips people apart and keeps their skull….but taking the time to be sad for the scorpion that was crushed by one of the soldiers…..awesome.
So, basic story in a nutshell Carl Weathers (not my favorite) tricks Arnold and his team into helping him with a mission. They find the people they were looking for stripped of their flesh hanging in a tree. They also find and destroy a guerilla village taking Anna prisoner. Then the predator starts hunting the soldiers Arnold is left alone he battles the Predator to the death and he and Anna fly off into the sunset in a helicopter with other survivors.
One of the things that annoyed me the most about this movie is the scene where Mac sees the Predator and starts shooting after it. Everyone else runs over and starts shooting too….but they don’t even know what the hell they are shooting at. SO many wasted bullets. Seriously? That is followed closely by the fact that of course Anna doesn’t want to answer them when they treat her like crap. Notice how she only starts talking to Arnold after he starts being nicer? Kindness matters, people. Kindness matters.
Recommend. Will probably watch again.
