And so we conclude our story. I have to say, I am rather impressed with how this story came together and tied up most of the loose ends (see unanswered questions below). We start with Deena seeing through the eyes of Sarah Fier in 1666. Sarah lives with her father and brother and is secretly in love with the preacher’s daughter, Hannah. On the full moon all of the teenagers sneak into the woods for fun and dancing. Before going to the party Sarah and some friends stop at the local witch’s house looking for some berries. Sarah finds a book and the witch tells Sarah that she needs to leave. Sarah and the Hannah leave after being harassed and make out in the woods. Someone sees them but they aren’t sure who. Back in town Sarah kisses Hannah and is seen by the town drunk/crazy.

The next morning the town is abuzz about Sarah and Hannah and the plagues that have started happening around town as evil seeps in. Solomon Goode, who appears to like Sarah a lot comes over to offer support. Then the townspeople discover that the preacher has locked the children in the church. When they break down the door, they find that he has killed the children and cut their eyes. As fear increases, the townspeople determine that Sarah and Hannah are to blame. Hannah is caught, but Sarah is not.

Sarah goes into hiding and eventually makes her way to Solomon’s house. When the towns people show up he pushes her into hiding. She ends up finding his secret room where his rituals take place. She sees the book from the witch’s house (she already found the witch dead) and the preacher’s name on the wall. Solomon comes in and starts explaining everything to her, including seeing her in the woods with Hannah. He tells her that he loves her and he wasn’t them to be together. Sarah gets upset and runs off through the maze of tunnels created by the spell in the book.

Solomon catches up to Sarah and cuts her hand off. She gets away and continues running until she comes out in the church. She walks out of the building as people gather around her. Then Solomon comes up behind her, grabs her by the hair, and says he found the witch. Sarah and Hannah are taken to the hanging tree. Sarah accepts full responsibility for being a witch to save Hannah, vows to Solomon that she will get her revenge and haunt his family, and is hung. Sarah’s friends move her body into the woods to give her a better burial.

We are brought back to 1994 where Sheriff Goode has just pulled up to the car Deena and Josh took to the grave site. Deena gets Josh to come with her and they are able to escape and get back to Ziggy. Deena tells Ziggy everything and they come up with a plan to lure the Sheriff and his ghoulies to the Mall. Blah blah blah long story short the entrance to the witch lair is in the mall, he and Deena both end up down there. In the end he is made to see all of the horrors his family has inflicted and is stabbed in the eye by Sarah Fier. Sunnyvale becomes not so sunny. The movie ends with the book being stolen from the lair where there are evidence markers by it.

All that and my biggest concern is: why the frick didn’t the police bag and tag the book and take it in as evidence?? WTF. Sure there are other things that are far fetched in the movie (like a few drops of blood mixed with paint drawing in the ghoulies), but that really bothered me. What shoddy police work!

I definitely think this series is worth a watch.

Let’s revisit our unanswered questions one last time:

  • Why is Sunnyvale a perfect town, where Shadyside is a murder town? Naturally because the Goode family was selfish and kept sacrificing Shadysiders so the Sunnyvalers would be prosperous.

  • Is Sarah Fier really the one doing all of this? Nope, as suspected she wasn’t really a witch. She did curse the Goode family, but not all of the town.

  • How does the witch pick her victims? This is still undetermined….They were always Shadysiders thought.

  • What’s up with the Sheriff? As you can see….SO MUCH was up with this selfish, lying, murderous dude.

  • Why didn’t C. Berman become the next killer after surviving like Samantha did? The biggest reason is probably because Nick really did like Ziggy. It was necessary to offer up Samantha so she would kill Deena and Josh.
