WOW. Just…..wow. This movie left me feeling uncomfortable. I enjoy a good movie that doesn’t have a happy ending, but the kids being the killers? I had guessed it early on, but I really hoped I was wrong. I have never been so disappointed to be right before.

A true crime author and his family move into the house where an entire family, except one child, was hung from a tree in their back yard. The child who wasn’t killed disappeared without a trace. The author wants to write about what really happened. He finds a box of home movies in the attic with names like Family Hanging Out ‘11, Lawn Work ‘86, and Pool Party ‘66. Each of the home movies shows a family being murdered. And extra distrubingly…..the title of the film is a cheeky allusion to how the family dies. Let Law Work sink in…….

The author views all of the tapes and does research on the murders with the help of a professor and a police officer. He learns that in each case the entire family but one child was among the dead and the children are being sacrificed for a demon, who shows up in all of the videos. He quickly moves his family out of the murder house and back to their old house. Only to find the box of home movies again. They have been restored to their full versions, showing the killers….who in every case are the missing children.

The police officer calls him and tells him he wishes he hadn’t moved because he figured out the pattern of the murders. The family who moved into the house after the murder would take the curse with them to their next house, where they would then be murdered. The movie ends with his young daughter killing the family and painting the house with their blood. He movie is titled House Painting ‘12.

I will absolutely be watching this movie again. The cinematography, jump scares, script, and acting were all fantastic. I highly recommend watching this one. It will frighten you and leave you thinking.
